Kentucky Search Dog
Association was established in 1988. The team provides
a valuable resource to the State of Kentucky and the
surrounding states as an aid in search and location of
lost persons, victims of natural or man-made disasters,
and evidence detection.
We deploy our canines trained Live-Find Wilderness
Search, Scent-Specific Tracking/Trailing Search, Human
Remains Detection, Evidence Detection, and Water
Recoveries/Disasters.
As is the case with all Search & Rescue units throughout
the State of Kentucky, we will assist Local, State, and
Federal Agencies with Search/Rescue and Recovery
services for those that are in need of our team.
The Kentucky Search Dog Association is 100% Volunteer
non-profit organization that is on call 24 hours a day,
365 days a year. We have been deployed for searches in
Kentucky, and out of state for lost persons on land and
water, and to assist Law Enforcement agencies.
We currently have ten certified canines that are
available in the State of Kentucky , five of which are
Nationally Certified with the American Working Police
Dog Association in Cadaver, Trailing, SAR, Obedience and
Article Search.
In addition the team also has two handlers, and two
canine that are certified as FEMA Disaster Teams.
